OXYGEN HANDBOOK
All members of NHOPA receive a copy of a helpful handbook, "Understanding Oxygen Therapy." This important booklet has been produced by the National Association for Medical Direction of Respiratory Care (NAMDRC), an association of nationally recognized pulmonologists in the United States. It provides oxygen users with a basic explanation of oxygen therapy, including types of oxygen available, oxygen delivery devices and terminology. This handbook was written for oxygen users. It is updated by physicians and respiratory therapists as needed and is currently undergoing revision. We anticipate the latest edition will be available by the end of the year.
NEWSLETTER
NHOPA publishes a monthly newsletter that provides
timely information to members regarding
Association activities, health and travel tips, and a means to
communicate with other oxygen users.
USER-TO-USER EXCHANGE DIRECTORY
NHOPA makes available a roster of its members who
choose to identify themselves to other members. We have
discovered that the User-to-User Exchange Directory is an
important networking mechanism, as it assists oxygen users
in identifying others in their own community who also use supplementary
oxygen. We do not provide this list without the individual
member's permission and it is not provided to oxygen suppliers or oxygen
system manufacturers.
